The Jigawa state State governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar has promised continue to provide conducive environment for investors to come into the State.
This he said is aimed at increasing it’s internally revenue generation base as well as human capital development.
The special adviser to the governor on media and Publicity, Alhaji Habibu Nuhu Kila in a statement on Thursday quoted the governor to have spoken while inspecting WACOT limited, one of the private sector investment established in Gumel local Government area of the state
The governor in the statement reiterate his commitment to de-emphasizing borrowing while plugging leakages and boosting internally generated revenue.
The statement explained further that “The benefits of private investments in the State cannot be over emphasized as they will provide employment as well as boost economic activity of the people especially the host community”.
According to the statement “Jigawa State Government through its investment and promotion agency will continue to facilitate and support private sector investment in the state”.
“To this end over 500 hectares of land was provided for WACOT limited to develop a sesame academy that will enhance the technical capacity of sesame farmers not only in Jigawa but in the whole of the sesame producing region of West Africa”.
He therefore commended WACOT limited for its dogged commitment by creating an organic sesame farm, farmer’s academy, a dripping irrigation, sesame cleaning plant and warehouse.
Earlier the Managing Director of WACOT limited, Mr. Bibhu Nandu expressed his appreciation to the Governor for all the necessary support accorded them as he promised to compliment Government Programmes towards food production and economic empowerment of the people.
