The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party(LP) in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has sent congratulatory message to the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, and presiding Bishop of the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria Bishop David Oyedepo on his 69th birthday anniversary.

Obi in a statement by his media aide Michael Jude Nwolisa described the great clergy as forthright and courageous in his spread of the message of salvation.

Obi On behalf of his family joined millions of his followers and admirers worldwide to celebrate with the Bishop as he marked his 69th birthday today. 

Obi noted that he deserved all the accolades especially, for the many ways God has continued to use him to positively impact our society, particularly our generation. 

According to the former Anambra state Governor, Oyedepo has stood out courageously as a fearless soldier of Christ as he has demonstrated enormous wisdom and consistency in speaking against the many ills that pervade our society. 

“Aside from your dutiful preaching of the gospel of salvation, you have also continued to contribute meaningfully to national development by investing heavily in education – a very critical ingredient for national development. 

“Through your other business ventures, you have also provided jobs to thousands of Nigerians and contributed to national productivity.

Obi prayed God to continue to protect, bless, and grant him more healthy and fruitful years ahead as he continues to serve humanity. 

He charged the Bishop not to relent in praying for our dear nation for God’s divine intervention.  

A former Acting General Manager of Fulham Properties, Brenda Unachukwu has countered accusations of embezzling N143 million during her tenure as AGM at the company.

Fulham Properties is owned by entrepreneur Chidi Anyaegbu, who also owns Chisco Transport.

Brenda who presented her side of the story recently, asserted that she possesses compelling evidence supporting her innocence and dispelling the allegations.

She contended that the allegations were an attempt by Anyaegbu to divert attention from a slew of outstanding salary payments, commissions, and other dues owed to employees.

Contrary to reports in some media outlets, Brenda clarified, “The case in court is N26,100,000, not N143,000,000 as alleged. I am not indebted to Chisco for N143 million.”

The former head of Fulham Properties, committed to transparency, also claimed that Anyaegbu had failed to settle her rightful entitlements even after she had left her position.

Brenda explained, “From May to December, I received no payment for my role as AGM, which included a 1% commission. Instead, I was only given 500,000 Naira, which was supposed to be my allowance.”

“We had agreed on the 1% commission, and if I met the target of 60 or more, I was entitled to a percentage of the total income for that month. The amount varied, sometimes 500, sometimes 700, depending on performance. This arrangement was because of my expertise in the role.”

“However, in May, he abruptly stopped these payments. In December, I formally resigned following the appropriate procedures. I even followed the rule that required me to provide two months’ notice. I submitted my resignation letter on the 16th of December,” Brenda recounted.

She went on to allege that “the 1% commission, which was part of my agreement when I became AGM, ceased to be paid in May. Anyaegbu claimed that my resignation letter was improperly written and that it had errors in the English language.”

A group, the Centre for Reform and Public Advocacy (CRPA) has claimed to have uncovered why President Joe Biden of the United States of America failed to honour a scheduled meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, President Bola Tinubu at the end of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York last week.

In a statement released by the Centre on Sunday in Abuja, signed by its coordinator, Ifeayi Okechukwu, it claimed to have reliably gathered that the State Department told the US President that the case against the authenticity of Tinubu’s university degree from the Chicago State University was still ongoing in the US court in Chicago and “it is highly likely that the litigation may run against the president’s interest,” the State Department reportedly told Biden according to the information available to us.

Okechukwu said: “Information available to us indicates that the failure of Biden to meet with Tinubu was consequent upon the State Department advisory warning the US President to avoid Tinubu like a plague until the litigation on his election is concluded by the judiciary in Nigeria.

“We were also availed of the information that there are inconsistencies between the records of Bola Tinubu with the university and the record that the Nigerian president submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to information at our disposal, which was obtained late on Saturday night, ‘Tinubu’s records at the Chicago State University are inconsistent with what he submitted to INEC in Nigeria.’

President Tinubu’s main rival in the February 25 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar is challenging the decision of INEC in declaring Tinubu winner of the election and has cited non-qualification of Tinubu based on forgery of documents as one of the grounds for his appeal.

According to the information, “as a result of the inconsistent records in his (Tinubu’s) Chicago State University file, President Biden was advised to cancel his sideline meeting with Tinubu.

“Similarly, a phone call that was arranged for Tinubu to speak with Biden was also canceled. So, States Department advice is to avoid Tinubu until his legal matters are resolved in Nigeria.”

The Centre further claimed that “the Nigerian president promptly flew to France from New York in order to seek the intervention of the French President Emmanuel Macron to help secure support of the West in the emerging legitimacy crisis rocking his administration.

“So, both the meeting of Tinubu and the phone call with Biden were cancelledled at the last minute.

“It is certain that President Tinubu has serious legitimacy problems.

“Indeed, if he were not a president with diplomatic immunity, parading any fake or unapproved university document is against the law in the United States.

“Under American laws, he would be denied entry or deported. Obviously, the States Department didn’t want any controversy to emerge during the General Assembly and that is why they tactically opposed to Biden meeting with Tinubu as that could be interpreted as President Biden aiding Tinubu in seeking protection from the law.”
