Abbas sends message of congratulations to Tinubu, Shettima over inauguration

A leading contender for the speakership of the 10th House of Representatives, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas (PhD), has sent his message of congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his inauguration as the 16th President/Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The speakership candidate also congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima on his swearing-in as the Number 2 Citizen of the country.

Abbas said with President Tinubu on the saddle as Nigeria’s President and commander in chief, the country would witness massive development as encapsulated in the president’s inaugural speech.

In a statement he personally signed in Abuja, Rep. Tajudeen Abbas applauded Tinubu over his promise to come up with laudable policies and programmes in the next couple of days, which he said would retool Nigeria’s economy and ensure adequate security.

Abbas who represents Zaria Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, expressed optimism that Nigeria would witness unprecedented development and good governance under Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.

President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, he said, would work assiduously to make Nigeria better by uniting the people.

“I am highly elated to congratulate His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his inauguration as the 16th President/Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“I also felicitate with the Vice President Kashim Shettima on his inauguration alongside the president.

“I am optimistic that Nigeria will be better under these two leaders of ours. They came to office ready to deliver, and I am sure they will deliver.

“I will like to call on Nigerians to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, irrespective of party affiliation, so that our country will be great again,” Rep. Abbas said.

The senator who represented Jigawa North West Senatorial District in the 7th and 9th Senate,
Danladi Sankara while rejoicing with President Bola Tinubu on the ocasion of his 72 birthday celebration has described him as a champion of Democracy.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Senator Sankara chronicled the struggles President Tinubu made with other Nigerians in enthroning democracy in Nigeria in 1999.
“Most of the years spent by President Tinubu before becoming President in May 2023, have been spent on the struggle to enthrone social justice and workable democaracy in Nigeria”, he said .
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has impacted indelibly in the annals of history of political development of Nigeria
“We salute him today on the historic occasion of his 72nd birthday”. he said.

He appealed to Nigerians to support the federal government in its efforts to stabilize the nation’s economy for sustainable progress and development.

“Economic reforms for true national development require mass enlightenment and support of the people to achieve the desired objectives.
“Government should involve and carry along all stakeholders and the people at local levels in the process of policy implementation for maximum impact and benefit to the nation”, he added

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 General election, Mr Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigeria’s Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on his 87th birthday.
Obi who joined President Obasanjo in his Birthday Thanksgiving Service at The Chapel of Christ The Glorious King, OOPL, Abeokuta to mark the Commencement of his 87th birthday celebrations, described Obasanjo as a true patriot whose ultimate desire is the development and progress of our nation.
A statement by the Chief Spokesperson Obi-Datti,Dr Yunusa Tanko quoted Obi to have stated that he was delighted to celebrate the revered Nigerian leader due to his many contributions to the nation.

“I was delighted to celebrate with this very revered Nigerian who has contributed immeasurably to the growth of our nation. His love for the nation is very evident in his firm commitment to the unity and peace of our dear nation.

“President Obasanjo remains a true leader who not only engineered so many positive transformations in our nation but left behind a sound economic foundation, which if we have followed, we would not be in the sorry state we are today,” Obi said.

Obi eulogised Obasanjo forever remaining active in the collective work of nation-building. He noted that Obasanjo has continued to contribute, by words and actions, to the struggle for good governance in Nigeria.

“With our dear nation, going through very challenging times, occasioned by leadership failure, President Obasanjo has continued to courageously add his voice to demand good governance in the country. He not only speaks, but he takes action to ensure that our nation is saved from further chaos.

“As a father figure, he has continued to inspire and mentor the younger generation in transformational leadership. I am delighted to celebrate him today,” Obi enthused.

He prayed to God to grant Obasanjo more healthy and fruitful years, as he continues to play his part in the development of the nation, through his immeasurable contributions, while wishing him a happy 87th birthday.

The leadership of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’Forum (SMBLF) has expressed grief over sudden demise of the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Dr) Chukwuemeka Ezeife on Thursday 14th day of December 2023 at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja. He was 85.
The statement was jointly signed by Chief (Dr.) E.K. Clark for Southern people, Chief Ayo Adebanjo Leader of Afenifere, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr. Pogu Bitrus – President, Middle Belt Forum and Senator Emmanuel Ibok-Essien, FNSE – National Chairman, PANDEF
