Reps member commends Tinubu over critical appointments for Akwa Ibom people

The Member representing Ikot Ekpene, Obot Akara and Essien Udim Federal Constituency, Dr Patrick Umoh has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Akwa Ibom people into some critical positions in his administration.
Hon Umoh in a message he personally signed also congratulated the President on his victory at the Presidential election petition court assuring him of the support and loyalty of his constituents.
In his words, “I extend our deep gratitude to the leader of our party and president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his graciousness, trust and savoury consideration of our party members in Akwa Ibom State for critical public roles in the current administration.
“It is of historical consequence and great sense of pride for our constituents and the people in Akwa Ibom that HE Senator Godswill Akpabio enjoyed your quite defining support and that of our party to emerge the president of the 10th senate.
“We were then blessed by your choice of Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo as Minister of State (Gas) Petroleum Resources, Mr. Victor Antai as Executive Director (Projects) at NDDC, Arch. Ubokutom Nyah as Mandate Secretary of Transportation, FCTA and indeed several others.
“While the emergence of our foremost constituent, Senator Godswill Akpabio as senate president and your appointments of these great Nigerians have excited our members in the State, these outstanding choices have profoundly inspired hope amongst our members in the quality of your team and the inviolable commitment to lead Nigeria to unimaginable heights in few years.
“We therefore thought to say thank you and to reaffirm our resolute support and continous trust in Mr. President’s agenda to move Nigeria to her deserved place of greatness amongst the comity of Nations inspite of the challenges of the now.

Spokesperson of sports ministry bags fellowship award on sports development

The Membership Council of the Institute of Corporate Administration has approved the conferment of Fellowship Award on the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, Abuja, Mr Mohammed Manga.
Assistant Director of Press and Public Relations. Mrs Grace Njoku in a statement indicated that the award is in recognition of his dedication and commitment to public service and service delivery in the country.

According to the statement, the approval for the conferment of the Award on him by the Council follows series of evaluations of his stellar performance, hard work, upwardly mobile and visionary approach to administrative matters such as strict adherence to professionalism in the discharge of his assigned duties followed with positive results as well as public spiritedness
“The offer qualifies the spokesman of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, as a senior member of the Institute and he can thus append FCAI after his name.
“The Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Public Service and Fellowship is conferred on individuals who currently occupy supervisory, managerial or leadership positions in the public or private sector, academia or armed forces and have exceptionally distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavour
While presenting the Award to the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar today in his office in Abuja, the Chief Accounting Officer, reminded him to see the Award as a call to higher responsibility.
“Let me first of all congratulate you on the Award of Fellowship. It is an Award well deserved, but remember, Awards are meant to spur people to do more. I therefore challenge you to redouble your efforts.
“Keep on the good work and ensure you impact this spirit to those working under you. Be focused, resolute, humble, and always uphold professionalism in the conduct of government business*, he said.
It would be recalled that the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, Mr Mohammed Manga was honoured with the Spokespersons’ Award for year 2022 by IMR’s Image Merchants Promotion Limited after he emerged top best in the Resident Information Officers’ (RIO) category to become the first to win the Spokespersons Communication Award (SCA) out of the 145 entries screened by the panel of judges.

Tinubu names El-Rufai, Tope Fasua, others in New appointments

President Bola Tinubu has named 18 Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants in New appointments to help execute the Federal Government’s agenda across various sectors of the economy.
The Director of Information at the Office of the Vice President, Olusola Abiola gave the indication in a statement released on Monday
The team, which comprises 6 Special Advisers and 12 Senior Special Assistants, will be stationed in the Vice President’s office to support the implementation of the Tinubu administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
The appointments in the Vice President’s office include:
Rukaiya El-Rufai, Special Adviser (SAD) to the President on NEC & Climate Change
Tope Kolade Fasua as Special Adviser (SAD) to the President on Economic Matters
Aliyu Modibbo Umar, Special Adviser (SAD), General Duties
Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Special Adviser (SAD) on Political Matters
Jumoke Oduwole, Special Adviser (SAD) to the President on PEBEC & Investment.
Others are:
Sadiq Wanka, Special Adviser (SAD) to the President on Power Infrastructure, Usman Mohammed, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration & Office Coordination, Kingsley Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications
Ishaq Ahmed Ningi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Media & Emergency Management

**Four new Deputy Governors get nod
At last, President Bola Tinubu has sacked the suspended and detained Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele and has appointed Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso as his replacement at the nation’s apex Bank
Cardoso is a Banker, Chartered Stockbroker, and Public Policy Maker, who served as the former chairman of Citibank Nigeria and one-time Commissioner for Lagos State Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
A statement by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday evening said; “President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso to serve as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.”
Ngelale said in the statement thus; “This directive is in conformity with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which vests in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the authority to appoint the Governor and Four (4) Deputy Governors for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), subject to confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Furthermore, President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of four new Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.”
The new Deputy Governors are listed as (1) Mrs. Emem Nnana Usoro; (2) Mr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo; (3) Mr. Philip Ikeazor; and (4) Dr. Bala M. Bello
According to the Presidential aide, “In line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, the President expects the above-listed nominees to successfully implement critical reforms at the Central Bank of Nigeria, which will enhance the confidence of Nigerians and international partners in the restructuring of the Nigerian economy toward sustainable growth and prosperity for all.”
The new CBN helmsman is the founding chairman and co-chair of Ehingbeti Summit, the Lagos State Economic Summit. Also a former Executive Lead at the Harvard Kennedy School alumni association, Cardoso did managerial and administrative studies at Aston University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. He has a Master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School in public administration
