Governor Sim Fubara of River State is not resting as he has announced his next move to probe the administration of former Governor Nyesom Wike
The Governor made the dusclosure while swearing in Hon Dagogo Iboroma as the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner for Justice.
The Governor charged the newly sworn-in Commissioner to be prepared for what was ahead, as he would be overseeing the setting up of a panel of enquiry to probe the activities of Government within the last 8 years in the State.
The governor lamented the grand-scale sabotage against his administration, saying that the state was in a critical situation.
He said it had become obvious that the political crisis could no longer be resolved

Senator who represented Bayelsa East senatorial District in the 9th senate, Biobarakuma W. Degi-Eremienyo has expressed regreted that Policemen deployed to Opu-Nembe (Bassambiri) since August, 2023 for the Bayelsa State Governorship election, have not helped to resolve the security situation.
While addressing media men at his residence in Abuja on recent developments in Opu-Nembe (Bassambiri) Community he said the Community had witnessed killings of innocent people, vandalization and massive looting of property from several houses including the his own residence in Nembe while the police stay aloof and even encouraged the insecurity.
Senator Degi-Eremienyo expressed shock that his residence located within the quarters where the Police men are stationed was not spared.
The Senator therefore, called on the Inspector-General of Police to withdraw all the Policemen deployed from outside Bayelsa State Police command to Opu-Nembe (Bassambiri), as the have have apparently overstayed their usefulness.
He said they should be made to account for the perpetuation of the crimes under their surveillance.
Meanwhile, senator Degi- Eremienyo has appealed to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, men and women of Opu-Nembe (Bassambiri) to allow the collective interest and aspirations of the people of the Community to override personal interest.
He emphasized the need for stake holders to accept sincere, brotherly peace talks as the best option, on the way forward.
The senator lamented that his remedial efforts to nip the conflict in the bud was jettisoned, adding that any attempt to kill the Bassambiri SPIRIT under any circumstances will incur the wrought of the ancestors and posterity.
He however, commended the Inspector – General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for the remarkable improvements recorded under his leadership in the protection of lives and property in the Niger Delta and other regions of the Country.
The senator also expressed appreciation to Governor Douye Diri for the concerted efforts made at sustaining unity and peaceful communal life among the people of Nembe.
He earnestly appealed to the Governor to continue to drive the process of peaceful resolution of the conflict and reconciliation to guarantee free in and out movement of all indigenes of the Community.

***CRC cries out, says another recipe for crises being perpetuated by the Governor

Concerned Rivers Citizens, (CRC) have claimed that the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara is colluding with the courts to dislodge the Rivers State Assembly and/or set aside its Laws to pave way for him to impose caretaker committees at the Local Government Councils.

This they said they will resist as it runs against the Constitution, decisions of the Supreme Court and intervention of Mr. President.

A statement issued and signed by the convener of CRC, Emmanuel Chibuzo stated that,

“Things are no longer at ease with Fubara as he has designed another evil plot which will take Rivers State backward and rock the dicy peace in the state just the way he pulled down the Hallowed Chambers of the Assembly to upset the peace of the state.

“We are well aware of his moves to get an interim order from a Rivers High Court to declare all the laws passed by the State Assembly illegal/ and or restrain the Assembly in the interim and within the period of the interim order constitute illegal caretaker committees at the LGA filled with his goons.
“This was the same method he used to get four lawmakers to sign the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

“The CRC totally condemns this destructive move and called on all right thinking Rivers people to resist this daylight robbery of the tenets of democracy.

CRC further called on the Chief Judge of Rivers State and some six High Court judges considered for this yooman’s job to desist from being used as the public is watching them closely.

The statement named some Judges being allegedly considered by the Fubara group for the job with some inducement to include justice Boma Diepriye, Justice Opufa Ben-White, Justice G.O Ollor, Justice C.N. Wali, Justice Monima W. Danagogo and Justice Sika H. Aprioku.
“It is important to state that we shall no longer seat back and watch any Judge being used to perpetuate any illegality. We shall come after such Judge using all available legal and social means to get justice to catch up with such a Judge.

“If Fubara continues to fight the state assembly meaningful development can never take place in the state and definitely growth will be truncated.

“Not too long ago we all saw how the state governor usurped the powers of the assembly getting four lawmakers to sign the budget of the state.

“Fubara is busy fighting himself in the name of building structures that he never had a hand in its foundation to the detriment of all Rivers people.

“This new dangerous path that he is designing for himself will not in any way favour Rivers people rather it will favour him and his co-travelers.

“Rivers will become the epicenter of mockery as democracy is being trampled upon by one misguided governor.
