An aspirant for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Salihu Othman Isah has admonished Christians to use the opportunity of Easter to reflect deeply on the decayed past in the country inflicted by leaders who do not mean well for its citizens with a view to remedy the situation.
Comrade Isah gave the admonition in a telephone interview with the National Update from Port Harcourt, the River state capital in the wake of his consultation visits.

According to him Nigeria must get it right this time around.

The APC top stalwart, who is a former Coordinator, Peace and Unity Media Advocacy(PUMA) and Consultant to Women Action Network for Development(WAND) lamented that the nation has been suffering under the vice grip of subsequent leaderships in the country.

The presidential aspirant expressed concern over the security situation in the country as he decried the spate of bandit attacks, ritual killings, kidnapping, thuggery and depression induced deaths as a result of hardship in the country among others.

Isah known popularly as Hotman in the entertainment industry was in Obio Akpor local government area to interface with stakeholders where he promised to use the movie sector to galvanise employment which is greatly needed to reduce the crime rate especially among the youths.

He also promised to revamp the economy and ensure the naira holds its own among global currencies in the global market.

“I shall ensure our naira become an acceptable medium of exchange, a currency for international trade and transactions. The Nigerian economy is greatly untapped and we shall ensure we drive it to the benefit of our people.”
The aspirant who is also an erstwhile National Vice President of Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN) and Chairman, Civil Liberties Organisation (North West Zone)
revealed that this season of sober reflection should be utilised to pray fervently for the country to wriggle it out of the web it has drifted into as a result of bad and wicked leadership.

Since adherents of both leading religions are in a season of fasting and sacrifices with Christians who observed lent now in festive mood having celebrated Easter Monday, he advised them to remember to seek the face of God in the efforts to rescue the once prosperous nation.

“Our Lord Jesus Christ was a man of love, a man of grace, a man of diligence, a man who sacrificed his all due to his love for mankind.

For those who seek the Office of the Presidency in 2023, there should be a template. They should be ready to show and express love for the nation they want to rule. They should come with grace. They should come with reverence.
“They should come with piety. They should come with strong heart and they should come with competence. Nigeria deserves a leader that is trustworthy and strong willed.”

He hinted that our past and present leaders suffocated and are even more emboldened now more than ever before to continue suffocating the nation and its citizens.

“It is sad that the various crimes that are bringing the nation down on its knees are those crimes we watch only as movies on television in the time past and even assume that they are fictions that cannot occur in any decent society.

“Today, these crimes happen under our very watch and we seem helpless. The body language and indeed the actions and inaction of government which should provide solutions to the ugly incidences is that they have no immediate response to confront them.

Isah is of the view that light will overcome the darkness that have enveloped our nation expressing confidence that Nigeria will rise again to assume its rightful position in the commity of nations.

“I am very confident that as Jesus was persecuted, crucified and rose after three days, Nigeria will rise again. I predict today that the sorrow, tears and blood of today will transform to greatness and honour for the nation.

“Our past and present leaders suffocated and continue to suffocate the nation and its citizens.
and are even more emboldened now than ever before.

***Alerts President Tinubu over Kwankwaso’s scheming to destabilize APC

From Mohammed Abubakar Minjibir

A Kano-based political think-tank, the CONCERNED KANO PROGRESSIVES, {CKP} has vowed to do everything humanly possible to support ongoing efforts of the national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to reposition the party and encourage all elected representatives on the platform of the APC to manage the gains of their respective, electoral successes.
Similarly, the KCP, have also vowed to checkmate, what its members, have described as , “the infantile and highly dysfunctional thought-processes being elicited by one-time civilian Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kwankwaso, in his drift towards political mischief-making against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “.
These views, were contained in a Media statement issued to newsmen on Sunday, by the National Coordinator of CKP Alhaji Mohammed Z. Abubakar.
The CKP stated that, “Anybody who knows Alhaji Kwankwaso and his conditioned behaviour towards matters of political socialization processes and mentorship, can attest to his high affinity for not only being domineering, high-handed, self-opinionated but abnormally dictatorial in the way and manner he relates with his peers, eminent political leadership figures and sundry loyal party members.”
The statement explained further that, “Alhaji Kwankwaso, is believing that he has the nationwide capacity to swing the sociology of the voter-behaviour of the larger Nigerian voting electorate come 2027, to actualize his animated ambition of becoming the President of Nigeria.”
The CKP, said that Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s self-inflated ego, is what is perhaps, leading him into nursing the faulty impression-formation disposition that, apart from the entire northern electorate, “voting” massively for him under the NNPP, the social and political rating which President Tinubu presently enjoys, is far below his self-proclaimed social and political stratification rating, which, has given him the pseudo courage to embark on his ongoing secret plans to destabilize the All Progressives Congress by using his NNPP political party platform to achieve his ambition of becoming president of Nigeria in 2027.
According to the CKP spokesman, Alhaji Mohammed Z. Abubakar, “Alhaji Kwankwaso’s hope of executing his plan of action is largely reliant and premised on the funding from his political stooge, the current Governor of Kano State, who will never dare defy the directives of Alhaji Kwankwaso, his father in-law and mentor.
Alhaji Kwankwaso, according to the Progressives, “uses the Kano State Executive Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, as a willing instrument to prosecute his current thinly disguised agenda to blackmail and demonise the APC National Chairman, Alhaji Ganduje, and his party in such a way as to destroy the APC brand before the next general elections in 2027.
The Progressives, have therefore humbly advised President Tinubu and APC members nationwide to be on the alert about the scheming of Alhaji Kwankwaso.

The organisation indicated that, “the unfolding pockets of mischief-making ploys, antics and deviant behavioural traits being orchestrated by the former Governor of Kano State, Dr Kwankwaso and the current NNPP government led by Alhaji Abba Yusuf, to tarnish the good image and reputation of both the ruling APC and its National Chairman, Dr. Ganduje, will fail. “We stand resolutely in solidarity with Dr. Ganduje”, the statement concludes.
